A journey through Toronto's Graffiti Alley..
So i decided to pick up my point and shoot Sony cybershot since my Canon is under-construction. I really didn't expect much from the camera but once i got to my destination, Toronto's Graffiti Alley located south of Queen street before Spadina avenue, i was able to take full advantage of its feature taking shots of some amazing art work. I spent almost two hours just walking down the alley which stretches for about 1 kilometer. It really puts in perspective the amount of talent Toronto artists have. This alley is known quite a bit during the summer especially during its festivals. I am looking forward to attending one where i can actually witness the work in progress.
After spending time looking at graffiti i came home and opened up my Banksy Wall and Piece book to see the power of art. After studying his work and searching up more about Banksy i came across this quote which cracked me up: "The time of getting fame for your name on its own is over. Artwork that is only about wanting to be famous will never make you famous. Any fame is a by-product of making something that means something. You don't go to a restaurant and order a meal because you want to have a shit." After that, i knew i had to follow up more on him whenever i got a chance. Well hope you guys enjoyed the shots. Sorry for taking so long posting things up but im really working on getting the camera fixed. Take care!
